By educating ourselves and our colleagues about what different kinds of workplace discrimination can look like, we create a more inclusive work environment for everyone.

Equality and diversity courses are a key part of protecting employee wellbeing. Minimising the risk of workplace discrimination through education is how we can work towards eliminating racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, classism, and social exclusion in all its forms.

Learning to recognise the signs of workplace harassment, challenging our own biases, and knowing how to respond supportively in order to protect colleagues at risk of discrimination, are all fundamental to creating a safe workspace. They’re also an important part of meeting our responsibilities to the Equalities Act 2010 which legally protects people who belong to marginalised communities.
