First-class dental practice gets first-class risk assessment advice from Bison

As a leading specialist practice, Abbey Mead Dental & Implant Clinic in Tavistock has a first-class reputation for providing orthodontic, implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry – and naturally, patient safety and trust are a huge priority.

So Abbey Mead – a finalist in the 2024 Dentistry Awards – turns to Bison Assist to provide expert health and safety advice, and to carry out the essential risk assessments that keep the practice fully compliant with legislation.

Practice Manager Kay Bullen says: “Risk assessments are an important part of dental practice life now.  What is most important is that they are adhered to, and that our staff are aware of them and where to refer to them if necessary.”

Bison experts help dental practices with many areas of health and safety, including Legionella prevention, access and fire risk. They carry out risk assessments, and are also on hand throughout the year to provide advice whenever clients have a query.

Kay says: “By having Bison checking our water supplies it means we are making sure our patients and staff are protected from diseases such as Legionella.

“Bison come in and carry out their work with minimal disruption. I’ve also had them visit our sister practice, where I previously worked.

“They’re always very professional and thorough. We appreciate their reminder that the risk assessment is due, which gives us a useful prompt, and also the professional and detailed report they provide afterwards.”
