Top Resolution 1: We’ll learn from what happened in 2024

Wow, some people (definitely not Bison Assist customers) had a truly awful health and safety time in 2024. Like the careless care home in Birkenhead that was fined a whopping £900,000 when potentially deadly Legionella was found in the water system at its sheltered housing complex.

Of course, not all health and safety matters are so massive or so costly. But at this time of year, it’s a good idea to review what happened on your own premises in 2024 and learn what you can do to prevent similar things happening in 2025.

For example, did anyone suffer a slip or trip? Have you rectified the situation and removed the problem? consider if anything has changed during the year that might cause a hazard – for instance, have you started to store something that might cause a fire? Prevention is always better than a cure.

Every workplace is busy, and sometimes it’s easy to forget about health and safety in your daily activities.

Everyone can play a part in keeping your workplace or premises safe. Encourage people to look out for potential hazards and report them, and not just assume they are someone else’s responsibility.
