Legionella water testing, it’s essential
60°C, that is how hot water needs to get to kill off Legionella, the culprit behind the potentially fatal lung infection Legionnaires’ disease. Any cooler than 60°C and Legionella not only survives, but thrives, only going dormant once the temperature cools below 20°C. Knowing this, are you certain that the water in the taps, toilets, air conditioning and water systems on your business premises is safe? The fact is unless you invest in Legionella water testing, you won’t know.
Water Testing its on You.
As a business owner or manager running your own premises you are legally obliged to make sure your water system is safe. That means it must be free from bacteria, including Legionella.
If you don’t, you’ll be in breach of multiple Government rules on water safety, such as:
- The Management of Health and Safety at Work 1999
- The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002
- The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- The Health and Social Care Act 2012
- The Water Act 2014
- The Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations
Although the legal responsibility of ensuring a safe water system is on your shoulders, at Bison Assist we’re here to help you meet your obligations.
Legionella water testing you can count on
At BisonAssist we can arrange for all water samples from your business premises to be tested in UKAS accredited laboratories. The samples won’t just be tested for Legionella but pseudomonas and other life-threatening bacteria.
You can get definitive results on the safety of your water in just 5 simple steps. We send you a sterile bottle with clear instructions and you call us when you get it. We will then arrange for a collection date and the lab will come to pick it up. They will collect your sample in a specialist vehicle and undertake the tests. And that’s it. You will then receive the result(s) certificate.
